Overflowing Column
Kalen has this post on this very topic on her blog. I have heard this question comeup evey now and then during presentation to why the 8k limit and what happens if we have beyond this limit etc? In SQL Server 2005 we can have overflowing rows that can span multiple pages. Check it out
