Connecting Users with Data in New Ways with the Office 2007 System
For most information workers in the enterprise the favourite UI happens to one of the Office applications, and ideally they would prefer to work with the Line of Business Applications using Office only. Doing this however has been difficult with limited support from the LOB applications, and not enough sophistication on the Office platform to support complex scenarios. Office 2007 however was designed to facilitate exactly these kind of scenarios – working with the LOB applications using what are called Office Business Applications (OBA). In this session, we take a deep dive into OBAs and see how to create this new breed of customizable solutions using Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO), Excel, InfoPath and Sharepoint.
