SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 - Released!

It is public and I am a bit late on it :) ... Microsoft released to the web of SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2. SP2 is an important deliverable for SQL Server, providing support for Windows Vista and the 2007 Office System in addition to delivering important enhancements for customers. Some of the things that strike me more are:

  • Data Mining Add-Ins for Office 2007, which enables data mining functionality from SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) to be used directly within Excel 2007 and Visio 2007.
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) integration with MOSS 2007, which allows integration with the Report Center in SharePoint providing seamless consumption and management of SSRS reports within SharePoint.
  • SSAS improvements for Excel 2007 and Excel Services relating to performance and functionality

I encourage you to download SP2 from http://www.microsoft.com/sql/sp2.mspx.
