Performance degrades after upgrade
I have had instances where I did hear of these issues from the field. Nice to see some mention of this from the query optimization team on the very topic. Didnt know they were online :). I am still not convinced completely ... Some more specifics need to come out for sure.

Yup!!! None other than Ken himself has this book out. But just looking at the contributors for the book, this must be a goldmine nevertheless for sure. 480 pages of simply hardcore internals stuff. Check out the same at Amazon here.

Who is more secure???
I personally feel that security is an industry problem and not a specific vendor problem. Questions have been for on how MS products are secure or not. Must admit that the SDL has taken products like SQL Server 2005 a long way and the reports over press are a testimony for itself. I am not posting this to tell competition is bad. But to demystify the security perception in the industry of the SQL Server product in general ... Read the news here.

Connecting to Excel
Excel is a powerful and wonderful tool to have. Sometimes it is quite debatable if it is a tool or an application in itself :). It is simply awesome.
