SET Vs SELECT

I have seen multiple post on this very topic. And most importantly its a blanket statement that dont use SELECT and use only SET while assigning. Here is some more perspectives to the whole thing from Tony. Read it here.

PS: I still wonder why MS always tries to give two-three or more methods for the same function yet not documenting most of them from a usage perspective.

Nevertheless, we always get to read from the fabulous fellow MVP's on them ;) ...

TechEd 2006 India: My sessions

Same time next week I must be on my way to attend/present at the biggest techno event TechEd from Microsoft in India. So I plan to talk on couple of topics and the same can be got from: TechEd Site.

So I am talking on:

  • SQL Mobile 2005 Performance Tuning

I will be presenting at all the cities this time too and would enjoy meeting you all over my sessions. I have some really exciting demo centric sessions and these have really taking very good shape.

Even though I dont want to give away the specifics, for my blog readers well the first session on monitoring has hardly any slides but talks more on how you would monitor SQL Server 2005 using demo :). I would talk on tools and techniques introduced with SQL Server 2005. So dont miss it ... Meet you all soon ...
