Visual Studio 2005 Uninstaller

I know there have been tons of posts over various blogs to remove the previous VS versions, do some registry hacks and deletes ... Even though I am not a big supporter of this I suppose this nifty utility can help folks do the same. Having said that I prefer the VPC way and just dont care to uninstall but just build a new VPC once a CTP/Beta is released.

Same day two years back

hmmm ... Thought to have a space for myself today. So same day two years back, I started writing to this blog. It is amazing to see I have made more than 600+ posts on this blog and and still going strong. Its really a nice experience to have a blog. I have made a lot of friends who share the same passion as mine ... SQL Server ... Most important thing is to have a sustained posting effort. I have had my own lazy reasons to this. But I bet I will try to keep this active and alive moving forward ...

SQL Server 2005 is a big beast and I am sure in the years to come I will have lots to upload over my website. I am presently at the US on a official trip but I will be making it to the SQLPASS Summit at Dallas. So all you readers who might be at the summit, surely do try to bump into me at the Summit days from Sep 28th to Sep 30th.

Lastly, thanks for reading my blog and do feel free to write a line of what you think of this blog !!! Would be more than happy to hear your inputs and views ...

To upgrade or not to!!!
This is a good article topic by itself. But needless to say MS has the upgrade advisor that I suppose we need to use as from the enterprise. Read the blog thread on ScalabilityExperts over the very same topic. A good read nevertheless.

Using Webservices and Xml Serialization in CLR Integration in SQL Server 2005
Catch this blog entry from the CLR Team. Even though I DONT support this big time I would recommend people to see how things are done. I share the same concerns of Srinivas Sampath over misuse of certain features. And I see CLR integration is one such area. This is the same question one person asked me at the TechEd India over serialization. My answer was simple, It is possible but dont misuse a feature like this ... Dont use a feature for the heck of using it or showing demo's ...

Breaking silence with a Breaking news

This amazing statistics from from Abhisek Kant (CPM - Microsoft).

“Extremeexperts is one amongst the top 10 referrers to the MS India (www.microsoft.com/india/*) sites. Not only that it is the only 3rd party (non-MS site) to be in top referrers list for MS.COM India (apart from google which is primarily a search engine).“

I would like to thank everyone who contributed in one way or the other for this milestone that our website achieved. BTW, we are nearing 1000,000 page views on our 2yr old website :).
