Windows XP Starter Edition Hindi Launches

On June 2nd MS successfully launched Windows XP Starter Edition in India in partnership with the State Government of Uttaranchal.

XP Starter Edition Approach in India:

  • Focus: Target XP Starter Edition to modest-income households in the non-metro cities through partnership programs with state governments. Starting with state government employees and expanding to citizens subsequently.
  • Partner: Create an ecosystem comprising Intel, OEMs and financial institutions to ensure wide-spread availability of affordable PCs (EMI @ Rs.399/-)
  • Position: XP Starter Edition as the ideal platform for 1st time modest income users
