Interesting tool to play with for sure. It has come as a part of SQL Server 2005 Beta2 edition release.

Microsoft to launch Google News rival

The page will let visitors create their own customized news feeds that are powered by MSN's new search technology, the company said. (Google News offers something similar, but it calls them customized alerts.)

Where has he gone !!!

If you were wondering where I have been and not blogging :) ... Have been having a terrible time with flu and cold. And in a matter of fact in a weeks time there seems to be tons of announcements and I need to catchup with :)

1. Finally the much awaited SQL Server 2005, Beta2 is out. Out for MSDN Universal Subscribers.

2. My site ExtremeExperts completes its One year !!! Its a big news for me to share :).

3. SQL Express Beta2 refresh is also out. Check here for upgrade details from Euan and his team.

4. Framework 2.0 runtime from MSDN Downloads.

5. NUnit 2.2 Beta : Interestingly works on .NET Framework 2.0.

I seem to have quite a bit of catch up to do ... Hopeing to start writing more on SQL Server 2005 from next week. Taking off on a trip to Goa this weekend.

RUnit

I have been hearing about NUnit, ASPUnit etc at the UG meetings and other places. I just saw this new one called RUnit -Software to run NUnit test harnesses in ASP.NET applications. Interesting will need to try this out soon ...

Statistics show surprising find !!!

The Micorsoft Windows application is more secure than you think, and Mac OS X is worse than you ever imagined. That is according to statistics published for the first time this week by Danish security firm Secunia.

The statistics, based on a database of security advisories for more than 3,500 products during 2003 and 2004 sheds light on the real security of enterprise applications and operating systems. Each product is broken down into pie charts demonstrating how many, what type and how significant security holes have been in each.

SecureString, Ahhh something new in Whidbey !!!

This is something new I read at Hernan's Blog.

“Whidbey will be introducing a new class, SecureString, which helps to make this all easier for you. This class will address all the mentioned issues by holding an encrypted version of your data (using DPAPI), and will be only unencrypted when accessed”
